When www.craigslist.org was started there was no separate "adult services" category. Such a category is obviously an invitation for ads for prostitution. Most major newspapers have banned such ads and craigslist.org should as well.
The presence of these advertisers on craigslist, and the folks who patronize the advertisers, has led to a deterioration of the quality of the website.
There can be no legitimate rationale for ads that condone and/or promote illegal and unsafe sexual activity for a profit.
We, the undersigned, call upon the proprietor of the website www.craigslist.org to remove the "adult services" section of this website.
It condones and promotes illegal and unsafe sexual activity for a profit and it detracts from the public good that craigslist.org can be serving.
