By implementing emotionally evocative media campaigns to push smokers into cessation, educate the public about the dangers of second hand smoke and expose the deceptive practices of the tobacco industry, and also by implementing policy changes to push smoker to cessation, keep the price of tobacco products high and implement tobacco dependence screening and treatment in all health care settings.
This should be done in order to meet the needs of CUNY students because there seems to be an unhealthy dependence on cigarettes.
We, the undersigned, call on Mayor Bloomberg to create an online program ( tobacco.edu) to bring about awareness for CUNY college students.
