We strongly advocate the need to make local decision making in the NHS more accountable to local people and communities, directly elected local area members will radically address the current democratic deficit in the local NHS structure and service delivery process.
Petition:
We the undersigned call upon Her Majesty’s Government to introduce directly elected members to serve as non-executive directors on NHS Acute Hospital and Primary Care Trusts and other appropriate NHS Trusts including Regional Strategic Health Authorities.
