Develop a Council Guideline to allow Verge Planting in Chinchilla, Qld

The need to a petition has been brought to my attention upon requesting from council that I plant a small segment of my verge with herbs and annual flower of which I would maintain.

I was told that it was in the to hard basket in regards to public liability and that it was above the gentleman's pay grade to discuss the matter further and that there was no guideline. I however believe that an appropriate guideline should be developed by council to allow planting in a safe manner as the benefits far out way the challenges. In a world of poverty and climate change sustainability is on the forefront not to mention the community building spirit this sought of gardening develops.

Verge planting is being undertaken in many large cities even as big as Sydney as we speak and I believe we in chinchilla should also be on the forefront of sustainability and community spirit.
