Delaware, Ohio, October 15th, 1995, Timothy A. Huffman was brutally murdered.

On October 17, 1996, exactly 1 year to the date of Timothy Huffman’s burial, Jason E. White claimed the responsibility for shooting the 18 year old young man. He also pled guilty to a charge of aggravated robbery, two charges of firearm specifications and a charge of misuse of credit cards in connection to the Huffman murder.

The body of Timothy A. Huffman, 8928 Lakeridge Drive, Powell, Ohio, was found lying on the ground next to a late-model black Chevrolet Camaro, which had crashed into a bank along the Conrail railroad tracks just north of Shanahan Road. Huffman was shot 4 times in the head and neck about 1am the morning of October 15th, 1995, Delaware County Coroner Daniel Traetow said.

Investigators (including Delaware County Sheriff Al Myers) believed that Huffman’s car was chased by another vehicle through the soybean field after he had been shot near the intersection of Piatt and Hollenback roads. Once Huffman’s car crashed into the bank, it is believed that Huffman’s body was dragged from his car and searched for his wallet and other items. The inside of Huffman’s car as well as the trunk appeared to have also been searched.

At least 4 shell casings from a handgun near that intersection were found. Both vehicles were traveling south on Piatt Road. Three traffic signs were flattened by one of the cars.

Evidence appeared on the inside and outside of Jason E. White’s 1994 Chevrolet Corsica relating to the murder of Timothy A. Huffman. Soybeans and soybean plants were on the underbody and in the door frames. Other items know to belong to Huffman, were also found in White’s car. Bloodstains belonging to Huffman were found on White’s car, and White’s blood was found as well on Huffman’s car. White was indicted within a short time and charged with Aggravated Murder. On October 17, 1996, Jason E. White was sentenced to 23 years to Life for the Aggravated Murder of Timothy A. Huffman, aggravated robbery, two charges of firearm specifications and a charge of misuse of credit cards in connection to the Huffman murder.

This murder was pre-meditated by Jason E. White and it is believed that there were others involved. The accomplices were never indicated and have never come forward up to this day. How Jason E. White and his unknown posse can live with themselves, one can never know.

What the family and friends of Timothy A. Huffman have had to live with since his brutal death is insurmountable. For Jason E. White to be released from prison and be rewarded the opportunity to return to a normal life would not only be a slap in the face but a knife to the heart of his family who never have had a normal day since October 15th, 1995. Timothy A. Huffman, on that day, ceased to live his life on that day because of his Murderer Jason E. White.
