Haringey Parks Department have offered to collect rubbish from allotment sites twice yearly, returning each time with about 1 ton of Ecopark compost. If this offer were taken up at GCAA, it would:

(a) deal with problems raised by the prohibition on bonfires during much of the year;

(b) improve the condition of the very heavy clay soil (at least on those plots which have not been greatly improved already);

(c) reduce the need for watering during the summer months.

When asked about this, the GCAA committee have said that the quality of the compost is not satisfactory, and so would not take up the offer.

The plotholders listed below request the GCAA committee to take up the offer by the Parks Department to remove rubbish from the GCAA site, and in return bring a load of ecopark compost, twice yearly.
