British Muslims strongly condemn the scaremongering initiated by a small powerful pro-Zionist lobby supported by segments of the media against the visit of Dr.Yusuf Al-Qaradawi. Dr.Al-Qaradawi is one of the most revered Islamic authority and held in high esteem across the world due to his balanced, accommodating & inclusive approach.

Dr.Al-Qaradawi was among the first scholars to condemn the September 11 attacks. He condemns attacks on civilians such as the Bali and Madrid bombings. Dr Al-Qaradawi, the President of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, is on a visit to the UK to convene the Council and to promote community cohesion.

We the undersigned strongly support Dr.Al-Qaradawi's UK visit and commend his call for dialogue & understanding. We also back his condemnation of the pro-Zionist lobby for their contemptuous ploy to tarnish his reputation and for trying to silence criticism of the illegal & barbaric actions of the Israeli government in occupied Palestine.
