The United States Government spends over 10 billion a year trying to prevent drug use. All they are doing is throwing money away and burning it, because our society has gotten worse the harder they tried to crack down on us.
Take a look for the Netherlands for example, they do not have a high crime rate at all, and marijuana is legal. Our government seems to believe that if marijuana users had the chance to legally use the drug, then we would go crazy as a nation. I, on the other hand, do not agree with this. If you are a marijuana user, then you know as well as any other user, that marijuana does NOT make you violent. It makes you mellow out and enjoy everything about life. NOT the opposite.
The government could manufacture and sell marijuana, and also tax it, without any problems whatsoever. Alcohol and tobacco companies would suffer somewhat, but our economy would be booming. The government would make 3 times what they spend on marijuana prevention annually, and I just dont think they see it.
Help me to knock some sense into these guys thick craniums.
