Parenting does not come with a handbook or how-to manual. Our hope is that we teach our children the difference from right and wrong and the meaning of respect so they grow into decent, respectable, hard working adults.

When it comes time for them to participate in sports and activities we want them to understand the meaning of teamwork and good sportsmanship. We watch and cheer from the stands and sidelines in hopes they achieve victory and success.

Most parents subscribe to this thinking. We support our teachers and coaches as they assist in the direction of our children. There will be bad teachers and coaches as in life we adults must deal with a myriad of personalities both good and bad. As adults we should understand that there is a formal process when dealing with these types of issues and should be based on fact and not lies and gossip.

There is always a vocal minority of parents that choose to create disharmony by splintering the team with lies and gossip to further their own agendas. Many parents choose to ignore such actions and some are swayed because they are only given half-truths or lies. The only ones to suffer are our children. The bickering between adults and gossip they overhear undermines all of the good teaching we try to instill in them.

In most cases, as decent people, we choose to walk away from lies and deceit which allows this minority win … but we join together today to say NO MORE!

We, the decent parents and the local supporters of Nazareth area school sports and activities, call upon the Nazareth Area School District board to hear our request and disregard ANY plea to remove any coach without due process.

We are fed up with gossip, lies and attempted assassination of GOOD people’s character.
