This petition is for the current and future students of Jones College who are graduating mid year. Most all colleges have two graduation ceremonies. One in May and a second one on December. We are asking the administration to hold a second graduation in December.
We are going to set a precedent at Jones College for students. We are going to be the first ever Education Majors to graduate from Jones College in Jacksonville Florida and we do NOT want to wait until six months after graduation to walk across the stage and receive a diploma.
Our accomplishments should be recognized when they happen. Every student in our major has a grade point average of 3.0 or better. We feel that this is an historical event and you should recognize it.
We, the undersigned, call on the administration of Jones College to add a graduation to the agenda in December of 2010 for those graduating.
Give us a chance to celebrate the achievement that we have accomplished, when we accomplish it not six months later.
