Preliminary Federal Bureau of Investigation crime statistics released in May, 2011 show that New Haven is the fourth most dangerous city in the United States.
The DCMT will create and facilitate in engaging parents to motivate their children to be proactive, safe and responsible.
We will research the creation of programs that will give parents safe choices as well as share information and resources of existing programs.
This curfew ordinance is designed to prevent crime, increase parental responsibility for their children, and give police greater ability to stop people involved in violent offenses.
This ordinance would prohibit persons under the age of 17 from being present in a public place or establishment between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weeknights and between 10:30 pm and 5:30 a.m. on weekends.
