Bruno Kibuuka arrived in the United Kingdom in 1993. He claimed Asylum on arrival. Bruno had never been to a different country before. He was granted admittance into the United Kingdom, and he stayed with his Auntie. After two weeks the local council gave him accommodation. 6 months passed and he was given a National Insurance number to which he went straight out and found a job.

He did a lot of temporary work until he managed to be employed full-time with his local council as a refuse collector. He has been employed with them for 15 years. He has only ever taken 7 days off sick in the 15 years he was employed. Bruno has paid into his own private pension and has never claimed any benefits.

In 2004 he met his English girlfriend to whom they are now engaged. In 2005 their first daughter was born followed by their second daughter in 2007. They have now been together for five years.

On December the 8th 2008 Bruno lost his employment. This was due to the fact that the Home Office have never concluded his case, he does not have any paperwork to prove his eligibility to work. His place of work have agreed to have him back but can only keep his job until March 2009. His case is now with the Case Resolution Directorate in the Home Office. This was set up to clear the backlog of an estimated 450,000 unresolved asylum claims, also known as Legacy cases, to which they estimate will be completed by July 2011. Bruno's case has moved from Team to Team within the Home Office. The Home Office now have all relevant information they require to grant him the Indefinite Leave he deserves after 17 years residency within the United Kingdom.

We the Undersigned are asking that Bruno Kibuuka be allowed to return to his job as a refuse collector and be granted Indefinite Leave to Remain as soon as possible, so that his case can finally be concluded with the Case Resolution Directorate Team South 4 after 17 years residency in the United Kingdom.

He and his family have been waiting too long to finally be able to get on with their lives.
