Close down Wood Common Farm and send all of the pigs to a reputable sanctuary

Woods Common Farm is situated near Congleton, Cheshire and supplies MacDonald's. However, the owner is apparently guilty of severe animal cruelty. (Warning: Graphic and potentially-upsetting and sickening information about animal cruelty ahead). When The Mirror produced an article about this farm, the pigs had no access to straw or other suitable bedding, and were slumped in their own urine and faeces. Wendy Valentine, founder of Hillside Animal Sanctuary, said "The animals suffer horrendously. You can see the distress they're in. They live in slurry. The law states they should have a dry place, even if it's concrete, but they just have poo and urine - no straw or anything. They're clearly disabled in some way and have back injuries. They should have been put down." I only support euthanising the and cannot be cured or made able to live out a normal, natural happy life through treatments, and I suspect that Wendy Valentine would likely share this belief.

I would like this farm to be closed down. I would also like all of the pigs and any other animals that may be on that farm to be examined and treated by a good, fully-trained, caring and honest veterinarian. I would like for all of the pigs and any other animals that may be on Woods Common farm to be sent to a reputable sanctuary, and placed in the custody of that sanctuary.

I would also like the owner of this farm, and all of the people who work on this farm, to be investigated and charged, if found guilty of any offences. This would save the pigs and any other animals that may be on this farm, and prevent further cruelty, not just to the animals, but also, quite possibly, to people as well. It has been found that those who are cruel to animals often go on to become murderers or otherwise be cruel to other people...
