Target:
Churchville Chili School Board
Region:
United States of America

Current board policy states only Seniors have the right to drive to and from School. Churchville Chili is the only district in our area that has this policy. It is also the only district that requires payment of $25 for the parking permit. Principal William Geraci states that the reason for not allowing Juniors the opportunity to drive to and from school it due to the increased traffic flow onto Buffalo Road causing unsafe driving conditions.

The back up onto Buffalo Road would be an issue for the town to address and not the school district. The increased traffic and congestion has been caused by a poor engineering design approved by the school district in which the new entrance contains two S turns and a four way stop sign.

The School district just finished renovations which includes a new parking lot for students leaving plenty of space for additional students whom are able to drive to and from school.

If a student has a valid NY State drivers license, is in good academic standing and has no history of being in or causing trouble they should have the right and opportunity to drive to and from school.

We, the undersigned, call on the Churchville Chili School Board for a change of the Policy which states only Seniors have the ability to drive to and from School.

We the undersigned would like all students who have a valid NY State drivers license and are in good academic standing the opportunity to drive themselves to and from school.
