Target: Pasco County School Board
Region: United States of America
Background (Preamble):
We the parents of children in the Pasco county school system are asking that every child be checked for head lice.
Petition:
We the parents of children in the Pasco county public school system are asking that every child be checked periodically for head lice. Recently, there has been a tremendous amount of head lice cases in the school system. The school faculty is currently forbidden to physically check childrens hair for any signs of head lice, we are asking that this rule be changed. If a child has head lice and the parents are unaware of the situation the child continues to pass this tremendously time consuming and costly bug around to every child he/she comes in contact with. By changing the law and allowing the faculty to check the childs head it would ensure parent/school awareness and the child would then be able to abide by the "nit free" policy currently in place.
