Elder C. A. McKnight became pastor at the Church of God by Faith located at 129 Palmetto Avenue Northeast, Winter Haven, FL in 1990. Since his tenure as pastor he has built a new church, had dilapidated structures torn down, researched and got the deeds to the properties legally purchased for the church and its use.
The street is now used for parking for the church, a parsonage and class rooms were built and future planning is in the works for a church library. The residents on the streets are pleased with the progress and can't help but appreciate how beautiful and safe it is on Palmetto Avenue.
We, the undersigned, current residents that live on Palmetto Avenue Northeast, request that the street name be changed to McKnight Avenue Northeast, in honor of this great pastor and leader.
