(Section 239 and 56 Ill. Adm. Code 2720.1)
We, the undersigned, request that the State of Illinois change the limitations on the weekly earnings income benefits guidelines administered by the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
Employment Income Benefits:
We want to see the current income allowance of 50% of your weekly benefit be changed to allow the recipient to earn (1) as much as possible of the weekly benefit amount or (2) 75-90% of their allotted benefit.
Age of Dependent:
Secondly, we request that the age limitation to cease benefits for minor child be changed from 18 years to completion of high schoo (if not yet completed by time turn 18).
Food Assistance:
Thirdly, we request that the income guidelines be changed to reflect additional the $25.00 per month supplemental benefit increase provided earlier this year. Many receiving benefits are not allowed food assistance because benefits are slightly higher than
the required benefit amount.
Note: change to the part-time income guidelines would really take care of this and there would not necessarily be a need to change this with the exception of those recipients who are disabled and not able to work.
