Cavalera Conspiracy are a band featuring the reunion of brothers Max and Iggor Cavalera of Sepultura fame, who have not played together since 1996.

In June 2008 Cavalera Conspiracy were announced as the major support act to Judas Priest for their "Priest Feast 2008" Tour of Australia and New Zealand in September 2008. This tour is being promoted by Dainty Consolidated Entertainment. Tickets went onsale for these shows in mid June 2008 through Ticketek, at a price of up to $150 per ticket. This is at the high end of ticket prices for such a show, only matched in recent times by the near-sellout Iron Maiden tour in February 2008.

I believe that many fans were only willing to pay this price due to the fact that Cavalera Conspiracy were lpromoted as the major support act, and for some this was the only reason that they bought tickets at all (as Judas Priest and Cavalera Conspiracy are bands from different eras and with slightly different fan bases).

In August 2008 a message appeared on Cavalera Conspiracy's MySpace page that they had been "forced off the Australian and New Zealand shows" as they were an "inappropriate" band to support Judas Priest and were deemed "too inflammatory" for the audiences. This is in stark contrast to the fact that Judas Priest and Cavalera Conspiracy have recently toured together successfully in Europe.

Since this statement was issued by the band several weeks ago, Ticketek have continued sellnig tickets for the show as featuring Cavalera Conspiracy, despite the fact that they will no longer be playing. What's more ticket prices have been reduced from their original sale prices, and General Admission tickets for the shows are now selling for as little as $60 each (for the same tickets which were being sold for $150 in June).

I have contacted Ticketek and they claim that the promoter can change the lineup and the ticket prices at their discretion, and as it is only the "support act" that has changed no refund will be offered. I have also contacted the promoter Dainty Consolidated Entertainment but have not received any response.

As a result of this many fans of Cavalera Conspiracy have paid a high price for a ticket to a show they are no longer interested in, and they cannot get a refund.

We, the undersigned, call on Dainty Consolidated Entertainment to either reinstate Cavalera Conspiracy as the major support act for the Priest Feast 2008 tour, or to offer a full refund on all tickets purchased for these shows.
