There is at present no skate park in Castlebar. It is badly needed as this kind of sport is not catered for here. It is a great way for people to keep fit , have fun and meet people. Not to mention it gives people an excuse for getting out of the house.
Ideally I would love to see an indoor skate park with a climbing wall around the park, maybe rooms off it for people to meet and play instruments (jam together) and other things.
People of Castlebar, Mayo and further afield Skaters Bmx and other similar park users need an area for which to practice their hobby of choice.
This is a great way for kids and adults to be active and healthy rather than sitting at home stuck indoors. You, your friends or family could be out meeting people and having fun.
We need a concrete Skatepark designed and built by professional skatepark creators.
