Thank you for your support. Letters have been sent to our congressman asking them to make cancer a national priority by supporting the Comprehensive Cancer Care and Family Tobbacco Control legislation.
Description/History:
The truth about cancer:

11 million people will be diagnosed with cancer in 2008. Chances are you could be one of them

The National Institutes of Health estimates overall costs of cancer in 2007 at $219.2 billion.

All cancers caused by cigarette smoking and heavy use of alcohol could be prevented completely.

Cancers that can be prevented or detected earlier by screening account for at least half of all new cancer cases.

Federal funding for prevention and research continues to decline.
Petition:
WE, the undersigned, believe that unacceptable gaps exist between what we know and what we do to prevent, screen and treat cancer.

We must fight to close these gaps and end unnecessary death and suffering.

We are joining with LIVESTRONG Army to fight cancer and request that you, our Senators and Representatives, make cancer a national priority.
