Call for Respect of Basic Human Rights in Maltese Detention Centers

We, the undersigned, call the Maltese Department of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention to ensure that basic rights to food and health are met and measures are taken in that direction, in all asylum seeker detention centres under their jurisdiction, in accordance with the EC Directive laying down minimum standards for the reception of asylum seekers, Maltese Prison Regulations and UN Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners.
