For years the skaters of Lafayette, California have been kicked out of parking lots, shopping centers, and various skate spots around Lafayette by police, store managers, school administrators, and even regular citizens and asked the familiar question "Why can't you just go to a skatepark?".
The only skateparks near Lafayette include Moraga skatepark, and Walnut Creek skatepark, both of which are not within walking or even skating distance. All we request is that a small amount of city money be put in to get some vacant land and a few ramps. It's not much to ask considering the huge amount of skaters in Lafayette.
We, the undersigned, call on the City of Lafayette, California, to reserve a small amount of money to go towards the construction of an official Lafayette skatepark.
