Bring Back British Baddies

Bring Back British Baddies
In response to recent complaints by Parisian papers about the current (post-Iraq invasion) positioning of the French as Hollywood’s preferred villians-de-jour, Oscar-winning costume suppliers Angels Fancy Dress (www.fancydress.com) is launching an initiative to help the British to retake their once-secure position as typecast bad guys of Hollywood from the ungrateful French.
Angels, Oscar-winning costume suppliers to the general public and the film industry (who have produced costumes for films showcasing British villainy including Star Wars and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves), is launching an online petition to allow British people to add their names to an attempt to persuade American casting directors to restore British actors to the positions of contempt that they so richly deserve. The petition will be submitted for inclusion in film industry bible Variety in mid-August.
American blockbusters have in recent years grown to embrace the new stereotype of the French villain. In The Matrix: Reloaded, Mission Impossible, S.W.A.T., Catwoman, Oceans 12, and Oceans 13, the trend became established, and Summer 2007 blockbuster Die Hard 4.0 confirms the position of the French as grand fromages of onscreen evil, featuring Bruce Willis facing down squads of French villains.
Sign our petition to demand that Hollywood Casting Directors restore British actors to the positions of contempt that they so richly deserve.
