BRIAR OAKS SECURITY GATE

We, the residents of Briar Oaks at Oakleaf Plantation, pay money to live in a gated community in order to provide a higher level of security for our homes, our automobiles and most importantly, our familes.

The gates that secure our community are not only a deterrent to crime, but also allow us to enjoy privacy and peace of mind.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's (FDLE) Sexual Predator Database, 109 Sexual Predators live within 5 miles of the Briar Oaks Sales office (Located inside our community at 3715 Creswick Cir), 8 of these sexual predators live less than 1 mile away.

Additionaly, the crime rate in the Orange Park area is on the rise. Based on the Clay County Sheriff's Office 2005 annual crime statistics, violent crimes have risen 11% since 2004. A summary of the statistics are as follows:

292 AUTO THEFTS
126 FORCIBLE SEX OFFENSES
27 FORCIBLE SODOMY
53 FORCIBLE FONDLING
61 ROBBERIES
2481 LARCENIES
12 ARSONS

It should be noted that out the $6,932,376 of stolen property in 2004, only $2,973,722 was recovered by the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

In conclusion, allowing the security gates to be closed at all times will provide additional security to the residents who dwell here. Additionally, Briar Oaks residents will enjoy an enhanced sense of community and be afforded the heightened security offered with this type of development.
