My dog Boy deserves to be Returned Home

My Dog Boy member of our family for the past 7 years, was killed from getting mauled by other dogs in the neighbourhood, on Sunday 21 June, he was left dead on the corner of Jamieson Road and Grigg Street only 3 houses away from home.

When someone from the public saw him and rang to notify FNDC Animal control about the deceased dog, he was picked up by Animal Control, in which he was scanned before disposed of into THE PIT, without us being notified. Mon 22-Wed 24 I went into FNDC to see if Boy had been located but was advised that he wasn't, I then posted a Status on Facebook in regards to my missing dog which I was then informed from someone in the public about the deceased dog she saw Sunday 21, I then returned to FNDC on Thursday 25 to identify the deceased dog. I was then notified the dog picked up was BOY, and that he had already been disposed of without us being notified. I pleaded we have our dog boy retrieved so that my family could cremate him and farewell him as he played a significant part in our family's life.

I was told by Animal Control Officer over the phone that I had NO rights as the owner, even though my dog was Registered and Microchipped. I ensured doing this procedure was abiding by the law.
