With recent positive talks within the Boys’ and Girls’ brigade and its volunteer forces, there is hope that this petition can be removed in a timely manner. Thanks to all for your help and dedication to this cause; we know that the organization as a hole is near and dear to so many of our hearts.
This is a reposting of an earlier petition. The first had been removed at the request of individuals closely associated with the subject.
In light of recent developments and the request of many signers the petition has been reinstated. Please take a look and sign up if you feel so inclined and have yet to do so.

Re: Actions of the Executive Director
Dear members of the Board,
We, the undersigned, petition the Boys and Girls Brigade of the Fox Valley to remember its rich, one-hundred-seven plus-year history of volunteer leadership within this great organization and thus rescind the recent decisions of the Executive Director.
In light of the decisions regarding volunteer service requirements, expectations and directives by the Board of Directors and the Executive Director, it has become clear our revered organization has reached a crossroads, dictating the role volunteers, present and future, will play in the Boys and Girls Brigade. As detailed in the Brigade’s own Values Statement, the primary purpose of the Boys and Girls Brigade is to provide wholesome activities where volunteer adults interact with 6th - 12th grade Brigade members. These volunteer adults have given of their time, energy, and finances to create myriad experiences for the enjoyment of youth. This has been our tradition for one hundred summers of camping fun, including this very year. One such group of volunteers was relieved of their duties recently by the Executive Director and is but one example of the hasty decision making of our highest executive.
This decision, along with other recent decisions, sends a strong message to our core of volunteers that we are not needed, appreciated, trusted, nor welcomed within the future of the very organization which shaped us and our forefathers. Accordingly, our forefathers fashioned, for us and our children, an organization where the experiences of our youth are celebrated most through volunteering. We return year after year to share the joy that was passed down to us from our volunteer leaders. The spirit of Onaway lives in each and every one of us and that spirit is passed down to the future generations of volunteer leaders, through us.
Therefore, we petition this board to rescind the recent decisions of the Executive Director. Doing so will send a clear and direct message to the Executive Director and staff of this organization that the spirit of Onaway needs to live on through volunteerism, as it was founded. In return, we volunteer leaders promise to make the next hundred years even more exciting than the last.
