Thanks to everyone who signed and supported the campaign. This petition will now be sent to the BBC Trust to reinforce the calls to save 6 Music.
Background (Preamble):
As a reaction to mounting criticism of the BBC's size and cost base the Director General has responded with a number of sweeping changes which include the closure of the radio station 6 Music.
This station provides a breadth of unique programming to an audience that are not served by any other radio service.
As such this is an ill thought out and reactionary decision that goes against the very ethos of the BBC's remit.

We the undersigned call on the BBC to rethink their plans to close 6 Music and instead, protect, promote, and invest in this unique British radio station.
