Ban Palm Oil in Australia

Greetings,

The Australian Federal Government have not only the means, but a duty to help save the lives of what remains of the orangutans and Sumatran tigers, and to preserve the incredible biodiversity of the native forests, and the culture of the forest dwelling communities.

Palm oil firms are destroying a precious natural wonder and pushing two incredible species rapidly toward extinction for nothing more than profit.

Economics is nothing in the face of extinction.

This petition will be sent to every single contactable member of the Liberal Party, Labor Party, and The Greens, and numerous other smaller parties.

This is not a plutocracy, and as such you must adhere to the will of the people, and the people demand an end to this pointless destruction.

Following the apparently intentional forest fires in late March 2012 by the palm oil companies, which is believed to have killed hundreds of orangutans and countless other creatures, it is time to enact an immediate blanket ban on the import of palm oil, and the import of products containing palm oil, and use of palm oil in domestically produced products in Australia, as well as mandatory labelling.
