The Gold Coast City Council Junkets have to stop. It is showing total disrespect to all those who pay them, especially this year, it has been a double whammy for so many. A recession, followed by huge increase in rates.
No wonder our rates have gone up over 70% in the last 7 years, if this is the kind of thing we are funding. FYI, the CPI increase for the same period was 21%. Please sign the petition on the site to ban any further junkets for the next 12 months.
We the undersigned, demand that the Gold Coast City Council, for a 12 month period commencing the 1st of November 2009, enforces a complete ban on all Overseas Junkets.
The rate payers contributing to the Gold Coast city council no longer give anyone permission to spend their rates money on these items.
