We, the undersigned, call on President Barack Obama to respond immediately to NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo's letter of 4/30/2014 which identifies Federal actions to be implemented immediately to prevent and respond to crude oil accidents.
Bakken crude oil is highly volatile and is being transported in high volume through NYS by inadequate rail tank cars, as evidenced by 3 catastrophic incidents in the past 9 months involving these trains, with one incident in Lynchburgh, VA occurring on 4/30/2014.
