Kent State University, having a bachelor's in Horticulture, has limited resources and coursework for the urban forestry/Arboriculture industry, leaving students ill equipped for the work force.
The students have voiced their disdain for the program and productive changes need to be made.
The undersigned call upon Kent State to make changes to the Horticulture degrees to meet industry and student needs, including but not limited to hands on and theoretical coursework such as sustainable landscaping, urban forestry(forestry, Arboriculture and urban forestry), turf science and floriculture ( floral and greenhouse) to better suit students and industry needs.
