We have water-damaged goods and non-reparable items and electronics. The people we are talking to are telling us that all these products are now to be pro rated.

What is the purpose of us having replacement value, insurance if we are to be nickel and dimed on each item, is it expected that we keep only new items in our household, thus warranting replacement value. Please explain this to me. You cannot replace items that are one, two, three or more years old unless you pay today's price tag. So I ask again what exactly does replacement value mean and what is its purpose, and usefulness. I see no useful purpose.

Further to this work that was to be started was put on hold. Its been 5 weeks now, since initial incident and the house is still torn apart. We were put on hold because the cleanup crews, First on Site ripped up part of the problem but destroyed another adjoining section without regards to its potential condition. They tell us that its our responsibility to fix part of it before the rest can be started and finished, well maybe they should not have destroyed it in the first place. We did not cause the rainstorm that did this, we did not rip up the floor then stop and do something else to hide the mess.

And on top of all this for us to afford to repair what they did not verify or check before they destroyed it. I have to do the work myself, that I paid insurance for. You have a very sweet deal going on here. We pay the insurance you get the money, I do the work. Plus I pay for the incompetence of First On Site.

When you have a legitimate claim, and it has been viewed and claimed as such, by an authorized officer for your insurance company, and if you have replacement value for your contents, then AXA and all insurance companies should honor their agreements and pay for items to be replaced, regardless of age. Do not haggle or nickle and dime your clients into submission for sub standard work, and inadequate compensation.
