Austin City Council member Laura Morrison said that the meter extension was too drastic for the given problem and that it "changes the ecosystem of what makes up downtown at night and on the weekends."

Morrison pointed out Saturdays "add one more barrier to people coming to the Farmer's Market." (source:http:www.austinpost.org/content/city-council-candidate-qa-place-4-laura-morrison)

Concerning:

Ordinance No. 20110303-025 of Title 12-3 (Metered and Pay Station Parking) of the City Code of Austin, Texas to extend parking meter hours within the downtown area from 8:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Monday through Saturday and to extend all other paid parking hours to 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

I hereby state my opposition to Ordinance No. 20110303-025 of Title 12-3 of the City Code, and call for the Austin City Council to rescind said ordinance.
