The Police Athletic League (PAL's), together with the Virginia Beach Police Department and the law enforcement community, supports and inspires Virginia Beach youth to realize their full individual potential as productive members of society. All children in Virginia Beach will have a structured, safe place to learn and grow. Nurtured by a special relationship with youth development professionals and police officers, local youth will be able to rely on members of Virginia Beach P.A.L for guidance, support, and find an example of the values we hold at our core. Discipline, Integrity and Honesty.
By providing our youth an opportunity to interact with our local police officers and community members we can start to change a culture of fear and misunderstanding.
By building relationships with our communities and our youth we will dramatically impact crime statistics and youth incarceration statistics by providing alternatives to traditional sentencing measures and opportunities for kids to get off the streets.
Community Volunteers in conjunction with PAL Virginia Beach Police Athletic Club within Hampton Roads Area is proposing an Athletic Boxing League for boys and girls between the ages of 12 to 18 years old.
The objectives of this proposal are the following:
· Develop youngsters in the sport of boxing while encouraging discipline in and out of the ring
· To promote structure safe place to learn and grow
· Facilitate communication between local police and participating youth of the community.
· To motivate youth on education endeavors through the sport of boxing
· Mentoring opportunities for volunteers to help youth realize their full individual potential as productive members of society.
