Kaleva Elementary kindergarten class has 28 students, one teacher, and many of the students enrolled are students already behind in academic studies for the beginning of kindergarten and desperately need additional one-on-one instruction to ensure that they acquire the skills they will need to be promoted to first grade.
The students that are at the appropriate developmental stage for beginning kindergarten will also benefit from having an additional teacher in the class room.
If enough signatures and parents get involved with bringing this issue to the KND School Board, we can get an assistant teacher hired if at least part time to help take on the task of educating our children so that they are ready to be promoted to first grade.
