Ragsdale High School has stared S.M.O.D. (Standard Mode of Dress) this year with our principal, Dr, Rodger's approval.
I along with plenty of other Ragsdale students firmly disagree. But i don't think its 100% Dr. Rodger's fault. my biology teacher gave me a little bit of insight on the situation.
about two or three years ago several Guilford County school went into S.M.O.D because the school board said so. they tried to make Dr. Rodgers do the same as the other principals, but she informed the school board members that the students of Ragsdale High could handle their freedom.
that year we wore our pants low and showed off our cleavage like it was actually someones business. the next school year Dr. Rodger clearly informed
us that if we didn't straighten up and dress more appropriately then we would enter S.M.O.D.
we did the same as we had done in the previous years. so this year we entered S.M.O.D. not because Dr. Rodger's felt like controlling us. but because she had no other choice. i think we should be blaming the school board of education and not Dr. Rodgers.
think about...your career on the line because senseless teenagers don't know how to dress.
any of us would have done it if we were in her shoes.
but Dr. Rodgers did fall guilty in one area of this mess.
She just gave up on her students. we go to school everyday and we're told "Never Give Up". what happened here?
don't expect us to follow your advice if you can't even follow it yourself.
Sign my petition. S.M.O.D. is unreasonable.
not all of the school is dressing inappropriately. probably not even a majority. but if its such a big problem... GET RID OF THEM.
innocent people are being punished for something they didn't act in.
Lets GET RID of S.M.O.D. its ridiculous and unreasonable.
