Only one state in the US currently allows assisted suicide. Oregon, as of 1997, passed a Death with Dignity Act, which allows terminally ill patients with less than six months to live the right to end their lives. When our pet is suffering, we humanely euthanize them to prevent a poor quality of life. Why, then, do we allow our loved ones to suffer?
Allowing assisted suicide in Pennsylvania will not take away anyone's inalienable rights to life. In fact, the Constitution does not even state this; the Declaration of Independence does, which is not the governing law of the land.
We, the undersigned, call the legislative and governing bodies of Pennsylvania to allow terminally ill patients (with less than six months to live and with two different doctors diagnostic consent) to end their own lives.
