Parents Against moving 6th grade to a Middle School

We, as parents, would like to voice our opinion. We feel as though our children’s education is in jeopardy. The decision to move 6th grade to a ‘Middle School’ and 9th grade to a ‘High School’ was an error on the Lafourche School Board’s part.

These 6th and 9th graders are not mature enough to mingle with the older children. The peer-pressure and the high expectancies have taken a toll on majority of these children and we feel as though this puts our children’s education in jeopardy.

We, the undersigned, are urging the Lafourche Parish School Board to reconsider moving 6th grade back to Elementary School and 9th grade back to the Junior High School.
