I am wanting to petion to the City of Guelph against Bill 130 (2004-17552) and the new changes the city is enforcing to the small business owner. I am a hairstylist here in Guelph and have worked for a retirement home for the last 5 and a half years. I work 15 to 20 hours a week and I am now having to pay a registration fee of 300.00 and a inspection fee of 100.00 along with a liability insurance of about 300.00 a year for income of about 5000.00 a year.
I feel this is very unfair when the government is trying to help the small business owner. I am a single mother of two and right now is my only means of income and I am having to leave this business due to a lack of affordability of this bylaw. Due to these changes and the time limits they are enforcing both ;one the retirement home itself and two the residents in those homes.
Finally hairstylist in most cases are working 2 to 3 days a week of about 6 hours each and if not signed to a contract will be having to leave.
We, the undersigned, call on the City of Guelph to re-define the bill 130m section 2004-17551 so as to help not hinder the small business owner.
