The driver responsibility program is a program that penalizes you 3 times for the same violation and covers it up by calling it a surcharge. If one can't afford to pay surcharges his/her license will be suspended.
If he/she gets a ticket or goes to jail for driving while license invalid then that person has his current surcharges plus the fine/fee for the current conviction, then once convicted has another 3 years of surcharges (penalties). This is a toilet bowl effect.
We, the undersigned, call on governor Rick Perry and Texas legislation to eliminate this unconstitutional triple jeopardy program known as the Texas driver responsibility program.
