This petition is to stop once and for all, the persecution of people within the UK being forced to pay a TV License.
People every week are fined, taken to court and actually jailed for not paying the court fine. They are forced to do so by the BBC, Channel 4, and The British Government. Mainly by the BBC, who choose not to advertise, then force the public to pay for their programmes, salaries, and expenses.
This is not designed to abolish the license altogether, but to give the public a choice, as they do with paying for Sky, or Virgin. Please sign this so the debate can be raised in the Houses of Parliament.
We, the undersigned, call on the British Government, BBC, Channel 4 and all affiliates, to abolish the mandatory payment of the UK TV License by law.
We call upon them to give the British public the choice of the channels they wish to receive, and how they wish to pay for them.
