The reason behind this petition is to have greater control over the granting of liquor licenses to ensure that Wrexham Council's Licensing Policy addresses the Licensing objectives in respect of Crime and Disorder and Public Nuisances which is currently having a detrimental effect on the prosperity and public image of Wrexham Town Centre.
We the undersigned call on Wrexham Council and North Wales Police to introduce a Cumulative Impact Policy under the 2003 Licensing Act.
The aim of such policy would be to grant Wrexham Council additional powers to restrict the number of liquor licences that may be granted in designated areas of the town centre because of an increase in crime and disorder, anti social behaviour and public nuisances.
