Cafe Bardon Park MAYLANDS

The recent development of cafes and shops in the 8th Avenue area of Maylands is showing that it is a vibrant and cosmopolitan inner city lifestyle; with a cultural feel of Leederville / Subiaco, but with so much more to offer- Our beautiful river lifestyle!

With the bustling centre of 8th Avenue, the new Maylands Multipurpose Centre and the soon to be Western Australian Ballet within walking distance of the Swan River Foreshore, we need to further enhance this location by linking it to the Swan River Foreshore.

A licensed cafe with full amenities would not only benefit the walkers, cyclists, boating enthusiasts and picnickers, but would be a huge draw card for Maylands and the City of Bayswater residents. The City of Bayswater has nearly 11 kms of river foreshore and a cycleway that runs the entire length. Some years ago a study was conducted that identified 3 locations along the foreshore that would be ideal for café/ restaurants. Bardon Park was one of them. The foreshore at Bardon Park Maylands would be an ideal location, as it already has a Yacht Club, parking and walking/cycle way.

A cafe on the foreshore at Bardon Park would:
Draw the larger community together to enjoy our foreshore.
Allow for a refurbishment of the current facilities while opening it up to the wider community.
Allow friends to meet for a morning coffee or lunch in a peaceful and picturesque environment.
Enjoy a wine and a meal at night overlooking the water and the city lights.
On weekends the cycleway is most popular and stopping at a cafe would be a welcome rest and break A continual flow of people frequenting this facility would add security to the area
