Ask City Council for Access to the West TSA

I am a mountain biker who lives, works, and plays in the Boulder area. I support limited access for mountain bikes in the West TSA. First, I want city council to direct staff to hire a third party professional trail design consultant and to work with BMA to develop a shared-use trail concept on Anemone Hill.

Second, I want city council to say "yes" to a shared-use trail connecting the core of Boulder to the existing shared-use Doudy Draw trail system.

I reject the OSMP staff's assertions that the tiny portion of the trail system that may be opened to bikes (some 5%) will add unacceptable environmental damage and that user interactions due to this small bike access will cause "irreconcilable" conflicts despite the fact that such shared use trails are the successful norm elsewhere in Boulder County and throughout the Colorado Front Range.

It's high time to bring mountain bikers into the fold. Please accept us as citizens, as neighbors, and as the current and future open space stewards that we are.
