Between the 12th and 13th of January many homes in South East Queensland were inundated with water. In the majority of cases people thought they were covered under their house and contents insurance policy.
Many claims have been denied outright and even more are still waiting for answers as to whether they are covered or not. The pain and suffering these long delays are causing in some communities are unAustralian.
We the undersigned demand the Federal Government take immediate action to ease the suffering of our fellow Australians.
Some of the big insurance companies are deceiving the majority of people with tricky, misleading advertising campaigns and hard to understand fine print.
This must stop so never again will Australians suffer like this.
