This Petition is to up hold the original mission of the Villages of East Lake Community was founded on. To provide tools for the families of The Villages of East Lake to build a better life for themselves and future generations through education, affordable housing, recreational opportunities and connections with the broader community.
Mercy Housing's mismanagement of our community is counter active and counter productive to the Foundations mission.
As residents of The Villages of East Lake, we are tired of Mercy Housing's mismanagement of our community. We are tired of paying rent in a community where we are not respected by; service requests are haphazardly handled, unfinished or outright ignored due to being under staffing.
We are tired of paying for leaks, faulty pipes, waterlines, floods, ruined property, staying in hotels because the property isn’t fit to live in, losing money needlessly on the improper impounding of our vehicles and ridiculous fees and charges in addition to several other mismanagement issues.
Anytime we, the residents, ask for resolution to what most would consider a routine maintenance request, it seems as if we are being asked "How dare a tenant expect a clean safe housing? MOST ESPECIALLY IF IT IS SUBSIDIZED BY GOVERNMENT/FEDERAL TAXPAYER DOLLARS." It would appear that the housing rights of tenants of East Lake is a major inconvenience to top management officials of Mercy Housing.
We, the tenants of The Villages of East Lake do hope the Foundation does not share the irritation nor annoyance with us, your tenants of East Lake, asking for the rights this community was founded. We would like for the Foundation to listen to and seriously take into account the concerns of its residents before it decides to renew its management contract with Mercy Housing.
