I think the GMC fails in it`s duty to patients,but does not fail in it`s duty to negligent doctors. We have proved in a court of law the trust was negligent and they have settled a five figure sum, the GMC in it`s wisdom have stated the doctor was not at fault.
When a professor of the same surgery and a teacher of this operation,expressed his total disbelief that the surgical team completely ignored all the test results and blood test results,not once but for over a three week period,and discharged once. And then readmitted and still failed to diagnose the problem.
Which caused another needless operation and another two weeks in hospital. With substantial costs.
And extreme pain and suffering. There is something wrong with the system if this can happen in the 21st century. And when admitted presented classical symptoms. And then when challenged the lead surgeon stated nothing wrong can expect this after an operation like this.
And could not even recognise organ failure with all the test results. Or even biliarey peritonitus which was being suffered from for about three weeks.
The Poor result of the GMC. As a charity funded organisation it leaves a lot to be desired. How can they effectively police themselves.
We the undersigned ask you to effectively and robustly take the complaints stated to you in a very serious manner as a fact and if compounded by a senior professor act on them.
Not dismiss them out of hand,as we as the patients or spouses have lived through this. Or have died. If you want proof contact me. This hospital trust is very lacking and condones their doctors, as does the GMC.
