Lake of the Woods Message Board

In October, 2010, the President of the Board of Directors decided to remove the community message board inside the Front Gate. Per the By-Laws of the Association, Article V, Sec. A. 9 b.(3) states that a significant duty of the Board includes: "Providing for the maintenance of adequate communication with the members of the Association." Article V, Sec. A. 9 b.(4) states another significant duty is "Promoting full use of the facilities in the Subdivision".

There is no documentation of this decision in the minutes of any official meetings. There was no advertisement of this issue as an agenda item for discussion during an open meeting of the Board of Directors. The Message Board was removed with little, or no, prior notice to the Members of the Lake of the Woods Association.

Removal of the Message Board constitutes a significant change in communication processes throughout the community. A significant change in how the duties of the Board of Directors are executed should not have been implemented without prior notification, open discussion and a full vote of the entire Lake of the Woods membership.
