Felons who enter the penal system are not be fully rehabilitated and are at risk of re-entering the criminal system if they do not receive assistance to re-enter society after they have served their sentence.
Due to insignificant and limited assistance, felons who re-enter society after serving their sentence tend to resort back to crime to gain income.
Due to increasingly stricter requirements for government assistance, increasingly stricter hiring procedures, and an overall lack of aid; approximately 30% of released felons successfully re-enter society.
According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, 67.5% of criminals who have served their sentence will be arrested within 3 years of their initial release.
Most felons that have served their sentence seek gainful employment after their release. As a felon, they face increasingly tougher issues from potential employers, as employers have the right to refuse work to felons.
By signing this petition, we are requesting that the United States Government offer tax benefits for hiring convected felons.
