We are asking people for support of a private bill for two young women who were born to an American parent, but not considered U.S. Citizens due to an oversight in reporting a foreign birth abroad to the U.S. Consulate in Canada.
The mother has tried every avenue to secure citizenship for her daughters who were thought to be U.S. citizens because of their American-born mother. Other private bills have been passed for people with no ties to the United States.
We are asking our congressional delegation to present the private bill due to their extraordinary situation.
A private bill on behalf of the adult daughters of Debbie Dean who were born in Canada to a U.S. Citizen and have lived in the U.S. since they were toddlers.
